Brighter Futures

Brighter Futures (BF) is an early intervention program which aims to support mums, pregnant mums, dads and children from birth to 8 years of age by identifying and building on their family's strengths. This program is administered by the Consortium of Neighbourhood Centres – Far North Coast , and in the Tweed Shire, is placed at the Pottsville Beach Neighbourhood Centre (PBNC). BF Family Development Workers support families by: linking them with other services they may need; helping them to access quality children's services; helping with transport; running parenting programs; and making home visits. People eligible for this program will have children from birth to 8 years of age and present with any number of challenges in life, including: a lack of support from family or friends; feelings of isolation; needing help with parenting or supervision; mental health issues; learning difficulties or behaviour problems; drug or alcohol problems; violence in the family; problems managing child behaviour.

If you would like to know more about this program, ring the BF staff at PBNC BF Outlet on 02 6676 2277.

If you are seeking information or support on other family matters, contact the PBNC on 026676 4555.

The BF program is voluntary and is made possible by funding from the NSW Department of Community Services
